Who is Iliyan Germanov?
My name is Iliyan Germanov and if you read this it means that you are curious about me. I am obsessed with learning and entrepreneurship! Since 12 I am consuming and implementing every knowledge in psychology, sales, and marketing that I can get myself to.
I am a big fan of learning both through industry thought leaders and real-world experience. My first venture was an entertainment app when I was 16 and it hit 30k downloads in less than 2 weeks. After that, I had 4 own startups and also lead the Android project of phyre - a mobile payment application partnering with MasterCard.
Today as an Inbound Growth Specialist, certified High-Ticket Closer™ and Entrepreneur I help customer-centric businesses to dominate their industry and make the world a better place by being human and providing outstanding service.
I believe that marketing, sales, and service should be aligned with one purpose - providing 10x the price value for the customer. When it comes to generating buyers and business I personally think that traditional marketing and sales are outdated. In today's internet era, the days of information asymmetry between the client and the sales/marketing are long ago gone.
In today’s competitive market just pitching your features & benefits won’t impress your clients. Even worse… According to HubSpot, 94% of consumers have discontinued communications with a company because of irrelevant promotions or messages. 51% of customers will never do business with that company again after one negative experience. Those numbers are telling.
Even though traditional methods might still bring results I believe that in the near future will die. Let me ask you when was the last time you saw a door-to-door salesman banging on your door? I strongly believe in the Inbound revolution lead by HubSpot. Marketing and sales should have one purpose - providing the customer with clarity by giving him relevant personalized information and guiding him to the best decision for him even if against their financial benefit.
No BS, no overexaggerating, no being pushy or salesy by spamming people how great your stuff is. Instead, spam them with content that will help them:
1. Realize a pain or opportunity by showing them the symptoms
NOTE! There is nothing about your product or service, yet
2. Show them the big picture of the implications and consequences of the problem and educate them on how to solve it for free
Become a thought leader and trusted advisor
3. Offer help in executing the solution based on their context and budget
Jump in their shoes and walk the path with them
It’s against human nature and hard to realize but let me ask you this. Imagine marketing and sales as your two best friends.
Would you rather have two best friends seeing you as a transaction and doing everything to take your money or two best friends empathizing with you, doing everything to help you even it requires your financial investment?
